  Ninguno Mas!

In 2010, USLEAP is partnering with the Colombian labor central, /Central
Unitaria de Trabajadores/ (CUT), on a national project */Ninguno Mas!/ *
<http://usleap.org/usleap-campaigns/colombia-murder-and-impunity/recent-violence-against-trade-unionists/ninguno-mas>[No
More] that documents the life and killing of Colombian trade unionists.
The objective of this project is to continue to raise awareness not only
with numbers and stats, but through the use of biographies and
photographs that tell the stories of the level of violence that
Colombian trade unionists continue to face each day.

More than 2,700 trade unionists have been assassinated in Colombia in
the last two decades, an average of one murder every three days. We
hope these stories will remind all of us in the US why we cannot allow a
free trade agreement between the US and Colombia if Colombian union
families continue to fall victim to murder as well as other forms of
violence, including disappearances, kidnappings, torture, and threats at
alarming rates.

*What You Can Do

**/Ninguno Mas!/* is an attempt to further engage labor and human rights
activists in the US by calling them to action on a particular case.
USLEAP will gather information and profile specific Colombian trade
unionists on our website. Local or regional labor unions, student
groups, congregations, and organizations can adopt the case of one of
our fallen Colombian brothers or sisters. Each group involved will be
asked to contact (write, email, fax, etc) their members of Congress, the
Colombian government, and other groups about the trade unionist
assassination case they are given to ensure justice is given to the
victims' families, demanding that the case be fully investigated and the
material and intellectual authors captured and convicted so impunity is
put to an end in Colombia.
