Japan expects deal today in TPP talks

Japan's minister for the Trans-Pacific Partnership talks, Akira Amari, said
he expects a final deal on the landmark pact to be announced today.
Amari said the United States and Australia had reached a deal on biologics,
but some final tinkering was still needed. A U.S. official acknowledged
before Amari's press conference that progress had been made in the
difficult talks on the new class of drugs.
Final negotiations are also still needed in the dairy market access talks,
Amari said, according to translation provided by a Japanese journalist.
Mexico: TPP deal expected today

Mexican Economy Minister Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal said today that he
expects ministers to announce a deal in long-running talks on the
Trans-Pacific Partnership, adding to what appears to be growing consensus.
"We do expect a deal today, yes," Guajardo told reporters in a brief
interview before meeting with Mexican private sector representatives to
discuss the status of negotiations.
Mexico has been involved in hard-fought negotiations over rules-of-origin
for auto, which several sources said appear to be nearly resolved.
The minister's remarks echo a prediction he made Friday night that a deal
would come through this weekend. They mirror those of Japan's TPP minister,
Akira Amari, who said today that he expects a deal after a breakthrough
between the U.S. and Australia on biologics.
