The Washington Fair Trade Coalition is seeking a talented organizer to
direct the coalition’s efforts. The Director will be responsible for

renegotiation, educating and mobilizing our coalition members and allied
groups to meaningfully participate in these policy debates, securing
elected officials’ support, and building long-term vision and momentum for

The Washington Fair Trade Coalition (*www.washingtonfairtrade.org

globalization
3. Communicate updates and action alerts efficiently to the Coalition
membership and activist network, via email, phone, the newsletter, website,
op-eds, letters to the editor, and social media platforms.
4. Communicate directly with Congressional offices and other elected
officials, organize lobbying visits, and mobilize activists for postcard
campaigns, phone banks, marches, rallies, bird-dogging, and direct actions.
5. Take the lead on creating strategies and action plans at the
regional, statewide, and district-by-district level, by working with the
board and convening local organizations and activists
6. Meet with the leadership of various labor, environmental, family
farm, consumer and other social justice organizations to solicit their
involvement and build connections, grow the coalition, and create spaces
where they can share ideas and connect with each other, including our
annual fundraising breakfast.
*Additional Responsibilities include:*
1. Maintain the Coalition's internal organizational and administrative
functions, including the member contact list, fair trade listserv, website,
social media platforms, and filing systems.
1. Work with the Executive Committee to develop a fundraising plan to
support Coalition programs that includes dues collection, foundation
grants, individual donor support, etc.
2. Support WFTC activist hubs throughout the state, including
coordination, supplies, solidarity campaigns, and training and leadership
development opportunities.
3. Coordinate as needed with national and international allies,

4. Cultivate and manage student internships and volunteer positions as
needed and as desired.
