...
*— U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said trade deals could be
reached within the next few weeks*, even as some countries cast doubt on
Trump’s 90-day timeline.

*— United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer suspended tariffs on 89
products* as the country pursues a new trade deal with the United States.

…

*PREPARE FOR DEAL-MAKING: *Greer in the interview floated that trade deals
with select partners could be coming together in the short term, saying “I
think we're going to be there with several countries in the next few weeks."

*State of play: *The White House is in serious talks on reciprocal tariffs
with only a select number of countries — Vietnam, India, South Korea and
Japan — prioritizing existing trading partners that are strategic to
countering China.

*Despite the upbeat assessment from Greer,* the White House’s approach has
left most countries in the dark about how to permanently stave off Trump's
tariffs.

Even some nations actively engaged in negotiations have expressed confusion
about the administration’s priorities and have cast doubt on whether a
90-day timeline is realistic, at which point Trump’s planned reciprocal
tariffs are scheduled to snap back into force.

“We really don’t know what the Trump administration wants,” said one
diplomat from an Asian country, who is close to the negotiations.

*UK’S OFFERING: *United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer is suspending
tariffs on 89 products as part of a wider effort to protect British firms
from Trump's tariffs, POLITICO Europe reports.
