We are using this comment period as an opportunity to uplift our mutual work on mandatory country of origin labeling (MCOOL), seed sovereignty, and supply management in the dairy sector, and how USMCA can better support these priorities. You can read the comment <a href="https://nffc.net/usmca-mandatory-review/" target="_blank"><b>here</b></a>.</div><div><br></div><div>As a part of this effort, we developed <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_eTBlH6fRr1w0bGuFGz3uMWs_uz4rTdkRqGlq8-foA4/edit?usp=sharing" target="_blank"><b>this toolkit</b></a> and are encouraging NFFC member organizations and allies, if they are interested, to submit a comment of their own. In that toolkit, we provide more context, submission instructions, and a draft comment you should feel free to use or modify for submission. The deadline for submitting a comment is Monday, November 3.</div><div><br></div><div>Our submission is part of a broader movement for trade justice, as exhibited by our participation and leadership within the Citizens Trade Campaign, that is fighting to ensure that trade agreements do not spell rollbacks to worker and environmental protections and handouts to concentrated corporate power -- hallmarks of the so-called "free trade" paradigm. It also echos what other NFFC members have highlighted in their own organizing efforts around this opportunity (for example, <a href="https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/prioritize-mandatory-country-of-origin-labeling-for-meat-in-the-usmca-review?source=direct_link&" target="_blank">MRCC</a>; <a href="https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/in-support-of-mandatory-country-of-origin-labeling?source=enews" target="_blank">Iowa CCI</a>) and bolsters NFFC strategic priorities around opposing corporate domination, supporting agroecology, and ensuring fair prices and markets.</div><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"></div></div></div></div>
